From June 2 to 5, 2026, in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, as part of the Annual Meeting of the Eurasian Regional Committee (EARC) of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI), an international practical seminar on ensuring financial stability was held on the topic: “Cooperation, coordination, communication: laying the foundations for a sustainable financial security system,” organized by the Deposit Protection Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Representatives of the Deposit and Savings Insurance Fund of Tajikistan (the Fund) participated as invited guests in the Annual Meeting of the EARC Committee and the practical seminar.
The event brought together representatives of deposit insurance companies, central banks, finance ministries, international financial organizations, and experts from various countries, who discussed current issues related to strengthening financial stability and improving the effectiveness of interactions between participants in the financial security system.
At the EARC Annual Meeting, Fund Chairman M.K. Asoev delivered a presentation introducing the Fund’s activities, its objectives, and its role in protecting the rights and interests of depositors, as well as ensuring the stability of the financial system of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meetings focused on coordination, cooperation, and information exchange between deposit insurance organizations, central banks, supervisory authorities, and other financial system participants. Experts discussed international experience in creating effective cooperation mechanisms, including memoranda of understanding, financial stability committees, and crisis management groups.
Particular attention was paid to the practical aspects of preparing for crisis situations, planning the processes of resolving the activities of insolvent financial institutions, and developing coordinated solutions aimed at protecting depositors and maintaining the stability of the financial system.
The program also included interactive practical sessions and group exercises aimed at developing skills in interagency coordination and decision-making in crisis situations.
As part of the Annual Meeting program, the Fund’s Chairman met with Eva Hüpkes, Secretary General of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI). During the meeting, issues of cooperation and the further development of bilateral relations were discussed, including the prospects for the Fund’s membership in IADI.
In addition, on June 5, at the invitation of the Deposit Protection Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Fund and the Chairman of the Deposit Protection Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues related to the development of deposit protection systems and the exchange of experience and best practices. Following the talks, a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed, aimed at strengthening partnerships, developing professional interaction, and further sharing experiences between deposit insurance organizations.
