From August 24 to 27, 2026, a working delegation from the Deposit Insurance Fund of Tajikistan (the DSIFT) visited Tbilisi, Georgia. This trip was part of a World Bank technical assistance project aimed at developing the financial and private sectors in Tajikistan. The project is managed by the State Institution “Center for the Implementation of the Project ‘Access to Green Finance and Rural Development Funds'” under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The main goal of the visit was to study the experience of the Deposit Insurance Agency of Georgia (the DIAG) in developing, implementing, and operating a management information system (SCV/MIS). This system is crucial for collecting, consolidating, verifying, and processing data and reports from credit institutions. Additionally, the delegation focused on understanding the processes involved in maintaining the Register of Insured Depositors and integrating the information system with agent banks while ensuring data protection.
During the visit, the delegation exchanged insights about the DIAG’s activities, including its institutional framework, powers and responsibilities, key performance indicators, and the overall state of the deposit insurance system.
A meeting took place between the DIAG’s head, Levan Todua, and the DSIFT’s head, Manuchehr Asoev, during which they discussed further cooperation and professional knowledge exchange. As a result of this meeting, the two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a framework for bilateral cooperation. This Memorandum aims to enhance working relations and create a favorable environment for the exchange of experience and for improving mechanisms that protect the rights and interests of depositors.
