At the invitation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), as part of its technical assistance project, a delegation from the Deposit and Savings Insurance Fund of Tajikistan, accompanied by representatives from the National Bank of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management, embarked on a business trip to Seoul, Republic of Korea. The purpose of the visit was to participate in a study tour aimed at exchanging expertise, learning, and gaining insight into the workings of Korea’s deposit insurance and financial systems.
The study tour took place from September 23 to 28, during which the Tajik delegation had the opportunity to engage with key stakeholders and explore the operations of the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC). The delegation delved into various aspects of Korea’s deposit insurance system, including regulatory frameworks, risk management practices, bank resolution procedures, insurance payout mechanisms, and KDIC’s asset management strategies.
In addition to meetings with KDIC officials, the delegation held productive discussions with the Chairman of KDIC and key leaders from the Financial Services Commission (FSC), the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), and the Korean Federation of Banks (KFB). These meetings provided valuable insights into Korea’s broader financial regulatory landscape.
At the conclusion of the study tour, the Tajik delegation expressed their sincere appreciation to the leadership of the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation and other Korean institutions for their warm hospitality and for facilitating a series of high-level discussions. As a gesture of gratitude, the delegation presented commemorative souvenirs to their hosts.
